The Archives of Historical Art Technology
accepts papers both from restorers and all other scientific
branches that affect historical technology in their research.
We welcome, in particular, detailed laboratory analyses
of works of art, or archive research into the material
and technical as well as sociological aspects of art work.
Likewise studies that generalize the occurrence of individual
techniques in art and theoretical papers closely related
to the material buildup of artifacts. We welcome papers
sent from every country (in any language), for the development
of historical art technology is primarily dependent on
international exchange of knowledge.
The filing of every paper received in the archives is
regarded as publication, following academic rule. The
author will receive a certificate of acceptance
which will include the archive number and be, simultaneously,
the number of the publication. The archives are open for
study in accordance with international archive regulations,
i. e. study is possible on the basis of a research
card and includes the duty to quote sources so as not
to misuse copyright.
Selected papers or parts of these are to be published
by stages in this yearbook. As can be seen from the layout,
the name of the author will always be followed by the
archive sequence number. The translation of papers from
abroad will be provided by the Archives of Historiacal
Technology at their expense. An author whose work is printed
will receive one free copy of the yearbook in which his
study is printed.
